Honoring a Legacy of Advocacy and Empowerment
WELLINGTON, FL – The Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FSHCC) proudly marks its 25th anniversary. This milestone celebrates a legacy of advocacy, mentorship, and economic empowerment for Florida’s Hispanic-owned businesses. Since its founding in 2000 by Julio Fuentes, FSHCC has been a driving force in supporting and amplifying the voices of Hispanic entrepreneurs. The organization has helped grow Florida’s Hispanic-owned businesses from fewer than 150,000 to over 600,000 today.
“For 25 years, the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has championed the success of Hispanic business owners,” said Julio Fuentes, President and CEO of FSHCC. “We have worked to break down barriers, secure policy wins, and ensure our community has the tools needed to thrive.” He added, “As we look ahead, we remain committed to fostering economic growth and creating new opportunities for Hispanic entrepreneurs across Florida.”
Economic Impact and Advocacy
Through advocacy efforts, mentorship programs, and groundbreaking initiatives, FSHCC has contributed billions to Florida’s economy. The organization plays a crucial role in shaping a more inclusive business landscape. With Hispanic buying power in the U.S. now reaching $1.9 trillion, it’s essential to continue investing in Hispanic businesses. This investment serves as a cornerstone of Florida’s economic future.
Florida lawmakers recognize the vital role FSHCC plays in strengthening the state’s economy. “The Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in advancing policies that support small businesses and create economic opportunities for Hispanic entrepreneurs,” said Paul Martinez, President and CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. “Their dedication to advocacy and mentorship has empowered business owners. This has fueled Florida’s economic success, and I look forward to supporting their mission for years to come.”
