Contact Legislators On Numeric Nutrient Criteria (NNC) Standards!

The Florida Chamber of Commerce is fighting to eliminate all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandates that apply restrictions and that pose a threat to Florida’s economic recovery, including unfair Numeric Nutrient Criteria Standards (NNC) for Florida.

Florida Chamber-backed bills relating to NNC will be heard in several committees this week in both the House and Senate.  Please take a few moments to send a pre-written email to your Representative or Senator!

Tuesday

  • House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee voting on ANRS 12-07
  • House Rules and Regulations Subcommittee will discuss NNC rules
  • Senate Environmental Preservation and Conservation will vote on SB 7184

Thursday

  • House State Affairs Committee will consider and vote to send bill to the House floor

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) should be setting nutrient limits on Florida’s water bodies, not the EPA.  Florida has a comprehensive excess nutrient program and a long track-record of helping to ensure the health of our state’s waterways.  Florida’s business community must stand behind the DEP’s authority to establish its own water policy on Florida’s water.
